• Tag Rugby Festival

  This week, St Andrew's team made up of Yr 5 and 6 children took part in a Tag Rugby Festival consisting of 11 local Primary Schools. The behaviour of our team was exemplary throughout the day. Mrs Hazel accompanied the team and says ’ I was particularly impressed by the sportsmanship displayed by our team, always being the first to shake the hands of the opposition and thank the referee after the game. Although very cold at times at times, the team played with a smile on their faces. The day was a great success.’

  Finger Puppet Fun

  Pop in for a half term story and craft session! Have fun making finger puppets at

  Tophill Library. This free event is suitable for families with children aged 3-8 years.

  Adults: An opportunity for local adult authors:  DLF Local Writing Prize.

  The Dorchester Literary Festival is launching its first annual DLF Local Writing Prize, to encourage and support local writers. This is a fantastic opportunity for writers whose work has been published on a local level to gain national exposure, and notice from literary establishment figures.

  Entries should be submitted by the 28^th February 2018, written for adults, not children, and have been published and sold as printed copies, not just in a digital format, within three years prior to submission.

  A judging panel, including professional writers and a leading literary agent, will then compile the shortlist to be announced at the end of May. They will then hold an event involving the shortlisted authors hosted by a leading writer in July 2018 announcing the winner, who will receive a prize of £1,000.
