Uniform

Uniform

We have a smart but simple uniform that we encourage all pupils to wear. We want children to feel that they belong to the St Andrew’s community and be proud of their school.

By wearing the school uniform children are sharing in the school’s ethos and shared values.

Our uniform is:

  • a blue sweatshirt or cardigan
  • a white polo shirt
  • grey trousers, pinafore or skirt
  • school shoes or entirely black trainers
  • grey, black or white socks or tights.

Blue-checked summer dresses can be worn in summer.

On PE days, children should wear their school cardigan, jumper or fleece. They can wear a plain white t-shirt or the school PE t-shirt. They should wear plain black or navy blue tracksuit bottoms, leggings or shorts to school with trainers or plimsolls. Please don't send your child with other sportswear or sportswear with other branding.

For health and safety reasons, please note that children are not allowed to wear jewellery except a small watch and one pair of stud earrings. These must then be removed or covered for PE lessons.

Pupils with hair that is long enough to be tied back are required to do so during school hours - spare hair ties are available from the Headteacher's office if needed.

School uniform, including sweatshirts, fleeces, polo shirts and PE t-shirts are sold at Dorset Schoolwear Shop (Great George Street, Weymouth) or online at:

www.dorsetprintwear.com
www.myclothing.com

Children who are eligible for pupil premium funding can be given a voucher to help towards the cost of uniform.

We support the reusing of uniform for environmental and financial reasons. Therefore, please donate used uniform items to the school and we will have regular second-hand uniform sales or swap shops.

Labels

Parents are urged to label all of their child’s possessions to make it more likely that we can return any lost clothing to its owner.
