Diary Dates & The School Day
Term Dates
School Day
The school day officially starts at 8.45 am. However, the gates open at 8:30 am and children are able to enter their classroom through the external door from 8:30 am.
The school day ends at 3.00 pm and we do ask parents to be punctual on collection. Children who are not collected promptly may be placed into our after-school care club at a charge.
Children will have a 15-minute morning playtime break. These are staggered between Reception and Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.
Children have 45 minutes for lunch. This includes time to eat and time to play.
Children will have daily English and maths lessons. There will be two PE lessons a week. Over the week children will have lessons covering the rest of the curriculum such as RE, science, art or DT, history or geography.
In Reception it will be slightly different as children will have a slightly less structured day with opportunities to learn through play and continuous provision that supports the foundation stage curriculum.
Snack time
Children in the Foundation Stage and KS1 are provided with fruit every day as part of the National Fruit Scheme.
In KS2 you may like your child to continue to have a mid-morning snack. This also needs to be fruit or vegetable-based snack.
