Behaviour

At St Andrew’s we believe that good behaviour is another part of our curriculum, something that we need to consistently demonstrate, teach and recognise when children are getting it right. If a child is struggling, we need to understand their difficulty and help them learn what the right behaviour is.

Just as we have high expectations for children’s learning, we have high expectations for children’s behaviour. We strive to create an environment where everyone feels valued, respected and safe.

We find that rewards are motivational and help reinforce the behaviours we want to see. The most frequent reward is praise, to individuals and groups of children. We also use starfish which children earn and have certificates as they achieve certain amounts.

Please see attached our 'Behaviour Blueprints' which details what our expectations around behaviour are at St. Andrew's.
