The children this term will be learning about journeys and transport.  Please see Reception class page for further information on our current topic, including recommended book list.

The video is sharing the story 'The Train Ride'. Throughout the journey is details what the child can see out of the window. There is lots of description and repetition.


Wednesday: Can the children draw and label a picture that represent a journey that they have been on. Some children will be able to write full sentences, using their senses to describe the journey i.e. 'I saw a tall tower'. Other children might be able to record a 't' for tower.


Thursday: Can the children make a train ticket. The tickets can be detailed with information including destination, price, seat numbers etc.


Friday: Go for a walk and collect some objects from nature. When you return home, use the objects to create a picture that represents the walk/journey. The children can use the same language from the story when re-telling their journey i.e. I can see....
