This week, we continued to learn more about how we could help to grow our future and finished reading The Promise by Nicola Davies. We discussed the book and explored our likes/dislikes and also any connections or puzzles we had.
From reading the Promise, we thought about what our visions for the future might be. We envisioned what the environment would look like and created freeze frames to show our hopes and dreams. Have a look at these images below. From these, we wrote our future selves a postcard showing our vision for the future. See some fantastic visions below.
This half term we are focusing on the book 'There's a Boy In The Girls' Bathroom' by Louis Sachar.
This week, we read the first few chapters and started by asking questions based on the front cover and blurb. We also inferred the impression that the character Bradley gave us during these first few chapters. Furthermore, we predicted what we thought would happen to the character Jeff.
In maths this week, we started to look at place value and practiced representing numbers up to ten million in different ways e.g. in figures, words, using place value counters, using part-whole models and bar models. Can you practice representing seven digit numbers in these ways? Use the place value columns to help.
