St Andrew's CE Primary School
Making a difference; for good, with each other, everyone, in our community
Keeping Children Safe Facebook TwitterRE at St Andrew's
St Andrew's RE follows the Dorset Agreed Syllabus and use 'Understanding Christianity' and 'The Emmanuel Project' resources.
Understanding Christianity offers a 'coherent approach to teaching about Christianity, so that pupils’ classroom encounters with Christian belief and practice is set in a wider context, deepening their learning and helping them to make connections between concepts, texts, practices and their learning in RE more broadly'.
The Emmanuel Project is an 'enquiry based resource' that 'complements Understanding Christianity by providing units on other world faiths'. The Emmanuel Project is based on clear theological concepts / exploring text or narrative, connects with faith community life, and looks at impact on an individual’s life.'
Each year group explores elements of different world faiths ensuring that our pupils are able to recognise and respect those who have different faiths and beliefs. This ensures the third aspect of our vision (making a difference to everyone) is lived out in our acceptance and embracing of diversity.
