Week 3
Tuesday

LI: To identify problems in the world that concern me

Have a look at the attached PDF file, which has a range of global issues.

After looking at all the photographs, complete this sentence stem:

‘When I see people in the world who are living in difficult conditions or who are suffering, I feel…’

Now, go back and look at the images again. For each image answer the following questions:

  • What is the picture showing?
  • Where might the picture have been taken (e.g. country)?
  • What might be the difficulty the child/people/person lives with in this situation?
  • What might help their situation?
  • How you feel about the situation?
Thursday

LI: To identify problems in the world that concern me

Think back to Tuesday's lesson - what were the global issues?

Create a poster that represents: ‘My dream for the world’.

Week 4

Tuesday

LI: To work together to make the world a better place

Think back to last week's learning about global issues. Look back at the images showing different global issues. Which global issue would you like to make a difference to? How would you make a difference?

Start to plan a fundraising event for a charity that would help to address the global issue that you would like to make a difference to.

Thursday

LI: To work together to make the world a better place

Complete the attached planning document that would demonstrate how you would plan and organise a fund raising event for the global issue you looked at on Tuesday.

Week 5

Tuesday & Thursday

LI: To describe ways in which I can work with other people to help make the world a better place

Last week, you planned a fundraising event for your chosen charity to help address global issues.  Using your plan, you need to create a PowerPoint or Poster to advertise your event and raise awareness for you charity.

Week 6

Tuesday and Thursday

LI: To give praise and compliment others

The past few weeks you have been looking at Dreams and Goals. Today you are going to be recognising the achievements of others. Think about what your classmates have done well this in Year 6. Can you create a list of compliments complimenting what your peers have done well in Year 6 this year?
