Please see this weeks letters, sounds and words below.
We are reviewing all the sounds in set one, then two, and concentrating on the application of these to word build and blend.
The words are all ‘tricky’ as they cannot be sounded out. These need to be ‘sight read’.

Monday 11th January
Sound 'f' i.e. fan
Word 'what' i.e. What would you like for dinner?
Tuesday 12th January
Sound 'e' i.e. end
Word 'want' i.e. Do you want a sweet?
Wednesday 13th January
Sound 'l' i.e. let
Word 'her' i.e. Sam took her pet to the vet.
Thursday 14th January
Sound 'h' i.e. hug
Word 'me’ i.e. Can you give me a pen?
Friday 15th January
Sound 'sh' i.e. ship
Word 'she’ i.e. She likes fish.

Tricky words: what, what, her, me, she
You can use the flashcards that have been previously been sent home to support phonics learning too. These can be used as flashcards but also to build simple words.
During daily reading, you can also reinforce learnt letters/sounds and red words i.e. 'Can you find today's red word on this page?'
