St Andrew's CE Primary School
Making a difference; for good, with each other, everyone, in our community
Keeping Children Safe Facebook TwitterThis year St Andrew's CE Primary School have created a 'Field of Poppies' for Remembrance.
This special display is located in the main foyer of our school.
Thank you to everyone who has kindly contributed poppies.
Due to Covid-19, and the fact that families are unable to come inside our school building, we have decided to share this online with you, thus creating our very own digital 'Field of Poppies.'
Thank you Mrs Parnell for putting this beautiful display together.
There will be two minutes silence in school today at 11am.
The children have been learning about why people wear poppies.
They have found out more about Moina Belle Michael and her work on remembrance.
The entire school have also been learning about the story of the poppy and why people take part in Remembrance Services on the Sunday nearest to the 11th November each year.
This year in particular, people are remembering those men and women who served 75 years ago in WWII.
We will reflect on the sacrifices people have made.
It is also a time that we can think about the men and women who are currently serving today.
We will remember them.
