All about the EYFS

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the "curriculum" we follow throughout your child's time at pre-school and right through until the end of Reception year.  Whilst all children develop at their own rate and there is no "one size fits all" guide to child development, we use the EYFS as a guide to recognising where your child is on their journey and to help us put in early interventions to ensure your child meets their full potential.
The document "What to expect when?" will have been included in your registration pack.  We would recommend familiarising yourself with this booklet so that we can work together as a team to support your child's development.  The Characteristics of Effective Learning relate to how children learn - for example, looking at how they explore their environment or problem solve when they encounter difficulties.  Developing strong characteristics of learning at a young age will lay the foundations to learning which children will need to succeed later in life.
